Overview:
The Shop Manager is responsible for leading the inspection, repair, and remanufacturing of equipment in service to our customers. Serving on the management team, the Shop Manager ensures the highest level of service considering quality, on-time delivery, and customer service. The position works closely with other departments within the organization to develop talent and find opportunities for continuous improvement while promoting the Separators Way of doing business.
Job Responsibilities:
•Monitor and maintain a safe working environment while serving as a member of the safety committee.
•Lead the shop team to ensure customer jobs are properly estimated, scheduled, completed on-time, and delivered with the highest level of quality.
•Demonstrate, promote, and manage in accordance with Separator’s core values of Customer Service, Continuous Improvement, Mutual Respect, Integrity, and Trust.
•Ensure shop personnel are properly trained in all aspects of their job.
•Timely and thorough communications with other departments on status of pending jobs, resource requirements (parts and people) and estimated completion dates.
•Provide input on and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) with a focus on early detection of challenges and continuous improvement.
•Solve problems through analysis and troubleshooting.
•Work with the VP of Operations and Human Resources to develop team members through personal development plans.
•Review and manage financial performance of the Shop, focusing on utilization, accurate estimates, waste reduction and cost control.
•Manage equipment manufacturing and inventory processing including estimating, remanufacturing, inventory, and shipment.
•Coordinate efforts with the Technical Services Group in areas of training, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
•Oversee the accuracy of shop personnel’s timecards and ensure hours are properly allocated to jobs.
•Support efforts to maintain the facility.
•Ensure proper levels of shop materials (consumables) are available to perform shop functions.
•Manage contractors and vendors in support of safety, the facility, and needs within the shop.
•Other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:
•High School diploma and 10+ years centrifuge or machine shop experience required. Associate degree or higher in a technical degree with 5+ years related experience preferred.
•Mechanical aptitude is critical to be successful in this role.
•Strong analytical skills focused on troubleshooting and problem solving
•Demonstrated experience leading individuals and teams.
•Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential. The ability to remain focused as interruptions occur.
•Willingness to take the initiative to ensure timely completion of tasks.
•Ability to balance the needs of the customer, employees and the company when making decisions. Being decisive while making good decisions.
•Proficient at Microsoft Office and familiar with Dynamics CRM.
•Prior experience working with Made2Manage strongly desired.
•Familiarity with the Traction Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) strongly desired.
•Must be able to routinely lift 40 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing, sitting and working on a computer.
